^^^^^ I'm pretty sure that some sort of adhesive removal product would work.
As for any residue left over, I recommend "Oops!" This stuff worked wonders on my vinyl residue after I took my stripes off, when Goo-Gone and like products didn't do ****.

Just pull the molding off. The glue rolls right off, but after rolling it all off, you may get some blisters on your thumb :P As for putting it back on, buy some 3M double adhesive from Home Depot and stick it back on. I pulled mine off cuz they looked like ****, cleaned them up, repainted them, stuck them back on, just to pull them back off cause it looks alot cleaner.

i just ripped those fu(kers off. the first one didnt bring the adhesive off with it, so i just had to pick at it. the other side pulled all of the adhesive off with the molding. no problems.

I pulled my moldings off tonight when I got home, took some time since they had been on for about 11 years now, but it looks great, and I am glad that I did it! I would recommend this to anyone! :D And "RadRacer" I do have blisters on my thumbs!
