Does anyone know the law in TX? I put the cover plate thingy back on the front and it looks 109.245% better, but ionno if we have to have a license plate in front and back or just 1 :S

    Re: License plate laws

A friend of mine got a ticket for no front plate when we were driving from Dallas up to Wichita Falls. Texas state law says that if the car came with a bracket for a front plate, you must have one. It's usually not enforced, but if the cop pulls you over for it, you will get a ticket.

When I did a consulting job in 93 in TX, they required both front and back. I got stopped even with my out of state plate. Virgina only had a rear plate.

Another thing about texas, if you get a cover/border thing for your plates, it can't cover up the name of the state. They used to be really strict about that too. I don't know anymore

I don't think so. I think it's if you car could have the front bracket put on, and I think it's a DOT reg that says all cars must be able to have a front plate.

Just put it on the airdam.

                  Re: License plate laws

In the windshield is not a legal place for the plates and would probably get you pulled over quicker than no front plate. The reasoning is that it would fly around in a crash and potentially kill someone that might have survived otherwise.
