  • Meguiar's Quik Detailer

Has anyone used any of their quick detailer products, either the aerosol or spray type? I'm nowhere near a suitable place to really wash my car (the water sucks, it leaves more spots than I started with) and I don't want to go to this meet coming up with a dirty girl. I just need something to hit the rough areas and make her look presentable. If not these products what would any of you recommend?

to prevent water spots, dry her with a towel or chamois.

The Quik Detailer works great for touch up. I wouldn't use it to wash the entire car.

U think I could get away with it if I rinsed the car, dried it and then sprayed it down?

^^^ exactly, or i know this sounds lame, but those Mr. Clean spot free rinse things really do work, so you could try your luck with that, Quick detailer is more for getting bugs, any gunk off your car without washing it. With dirt it's much better to wash it off, then to wipe it off with a towel. well good luck

Thanks for your help. I'm gathering I can't get away with being lazy. I need to give my baby a sponge bath, I wouldn't mind so much except she's so much bigger than my other one used to be. Oh well fat ones need loving too.

Here's what I do: wash, dry as best I can, then get any water spots I missed with a microfiber and Meg's QD. I only use the stuff in the maroon-colored bottle. It's fairly cheap ($8 for the huge one) and it lubricates the surface well, finishes off well. The NXT qd sucks IMO.

Paint cleaners will also get rid of water spots (i.e. Zaino AIO, Klasse AIO, and I think meg's has some products as well) Just make sure the paint is dirt free before using it.

Don't ever QD a DIRTY car. You'll have to be your own judge as to what a really dirty car is. I like to dust with a california duster if it's light dust, then finish with the QD.
