okay, so i just remembered i should make a post on this. my dash, along with many other 4th gen f-bodies out there, has many cracks and looks like crap. well i can get a perfect dash for my car for $20 so i'm going to replace it. just want to know if there has been a post on this, if so can i get a link? if not, anybody know how to take out the dash and could be nice enough to explain. i dont mind breaking my dash more than it is, but the other dash i have to take out of the car(which is all kinds of messed up).

Re: replacing dash...
1. Dash covers look like sh!t.
2. When you take your dash apart, even if you break it more, verify where all the clips , screws and velcrow strips ( i think ) are located and how it SHOULD come apart.
3. Putting the new one in, dont get frustrated.. thin, agned, and sun beated plastic will crack very easy so just walk away and come back when you calmed down.
4. Search, im pretty sure there has been dash removals, and dash conversions done in the past that have been talked about.*Matt

Re: replacing dash...
windshield post trim has to come off. if you have t-tops just take out the phillips screw that you will see when you remove the t-tops then pop the pillar trim off. in a camaro 93-96 slide a thin wide yet strong blade putty knife up under the front of the old dash cover you are removing it,s broke anyway right. you can slide the putty knife along the front edge of the dash cover and lift up as you go. it is held in by either velcro or plastic snaps. once you get the front loose gently raise it up to look underneath up next to the windshield same here snapped in or velcro. you will need a long flat blade to get it popped loose then remove it. mine is also broken and i am going to replace shortly. high price for a thin piece of plastic. i was getting a perfect one off a car at the salvage yard and at the last minute it decided to simply snap in half. to much sun to thin plastic. i have thought about putting a broke one back together and using bed liner spray on iy you couldnr see the patches that way and make it more robust by adding thin layers of plactic on the back side. like plexiglass very thin strips to give it strength. this will be a summer to do project just to see how it turns out. alwready have the bed liner paint and plexiglass. good luck steve
