When my orig engine blew and caught fire, it burned up some ventilation eqpt on the firewall.
My controls still work, except for the floor/vent/defog selector.
Pulled off the console, and all is well inside the interior, all vacuum lines intact.
Near the firewall and ECM, there is a 3-way connector of vacuum lines, and one is cut and melted closed.
Is this my vacuum line for the vent system? This 3-way also connects to the intake, and another lines goes forward in a wire harness, going under the battery.
2ndly, where would the engine compartment vacuum connection/penetration for the vent system be located on the firewall?
In harness diagrams it labels it near the 2 heater hose penetrations, but does not actually show it. I searched, and cannot find a vent system diagram incl the vacuum lines...
Is it near, above, or below the 2 hoses on the firewall? What does it look like?
If I have the correct vacuum line at that 3-way, and can find the connection to the vent system on the firewall in the eng compartment, I may be able to reconnect these lines, and regain vent control and usage.
My AC, temp control, and fan control all work fine. I would appreciate any advice re the vacuum system layout in the eng compartment. It is hard to reach, but if I knew what was what, I think I could get ready for the hot, humid DC summers...
Thanks again.
