Not shabby. Next time try some hand applied swirl remover between the clay bar and your wax.

Some brands that are readily available you might want to try are either 3m swirl remover for dark cars, or maybe meguiars #9 swirl remover. If you cant find either of those, try NuFinish Scratch doctor. Hit the whole car with that like you would wax, then wax after that.

Re: Not a virgin to the clay anymore

Thanx guys... This took me about 4 hours (which is a quicky for me)

I'll try the swirl remover next time. That would really help since there are thousands of swirls. I also have alot of paint problems up front including clear coat coming off and the paint looks faded. I need to hit up some zaino products and do the whole process.

Oh yeah, the last two pics are my favorite, but I about got hit by some truck when taking it

I have also noticed that my blackouts use to match the color of my car, now after the wax they look dull.

search claybar and you will find thousands of threads about it. Basically its a piece of clay that takes off the old wax and grime on your paint. Even if you think the paint is smooth, wait until you feel it after clay bar is used.

Looks like you did a good job removing any debris and getting it smooth. You know that clay bar takes things off the surface, but won't remove paint imperfections, right?

An orbital buffer, some polish and glaze ought to do the trick with any swirls you have. Don't feel bad about the imperfections: black is THE single hardest color to maintain, and any dark blue follows closely.

Thats why I'm not too worried about it. I get dings from the parking lot a school and buggies at kroger where I work so if I ever decide to really make this car pefect then I'll get the paint taken care of, but for a DD it looks good enough to me.
