have a quick question perhaps someone can help.
What is the part number for the manual shift boot and clip ring that holds it down?

Also if anyone knows a good fix for this without having to deal with that POS plastic ring I'm all ears. Oah how nice it would be if someone made an aluminum one. I tried searching and no luck.

I have seen several go on ebay but am never around when the bidding closes so I'm gonna try gm-parts direct or some other route.

    thanks

I don't know if an aluminum one would be flexable enough. The stock ones certainly do suck though. I don't remember the part number, but when I replaced mine it was about $40. You have to get an entire boot. You can't get just the ring.

If yours isn't broken too badly I would epoxy it.

yeah it's in multiple peices some of which are missing :(
so I need the whole thing, I think I could live with paying $40. Anyone have that part number? Trying to avoid going to the parts counter at the chevy dealership.

I found my receipt. I paid $37.77 and gmpartsdirect has them for $26.61. Part number 10271369.

The part number I gave is for 97-02 manual. If you have an earlier 4th gen I believe the boot is the second part number you gave.
