Corvette Grand Sport Style Stripes

bfranker sells Fbody Corvette Grand Sport Style Stripes, and I like the idea, tho I am not big on decals and stripes in general.
I have a silver Catfish with the use of both stock painted alum wheels, and 17'' SS 10 spoke chrome. No other visual extras on the car except for dual halos... and the Borla chrome tips.
At a car show, I was pleased with some of the ghost flame jobs, or stripes that were just slightly darker or lighter than the body paint, with as little contrast as possible but still show up.
I admire the pewter color, and wondered if the Grand Sport stripes on my fender in pewter would get this effect; different, but not flashy, a complimentary color.
Also thought I'd just do the driver side as authentic, but he offers the passenger side too.
The ad says it is F-body Pewter, so I wonder if it would look right and subtle.
Any opinions? Anyone tried something like this?

IMO, pewter decals on a silver car would make it look like the car is super-dirty in those spots.

And I wouldn't get too bent out of shape for authenticity, since you're car is neither
A) A Corvette
B) A blue Corvette w/ white hood decals
or
C) A Grand Sport Corvette

ghost stripes/flames would be neat, but you have to pay quite a bit for them

Don't do that grand sport stripes, they don't look that good anyway.

i think the GS stripes can look good (mike's) and i think pewter could look alright on a silver car as a sort of ghost stripe, but with something that small it probably wouldn't do much for appearance.. That and IMO the GS stripes only look good on early 4th gens.

Ghosted flames are indeed pricy.

I use the other fonts so that its easier for me to tell what I wrote, etc, after replies. Eyesite is bad; another reason I went 3800 vs LT1, yada...
