  • Black rims, yay or nay?

OK, I'm going to paint my calipers red to go with my car (97 red Camaro with blackouts, black 3800's etc etc, all black stuff), and I was thinking some black rims would look good. Before I thought they would blend too much, but now with the red calipers in the back, I think it'll be just enough to make them stand out and look good. I want a chrome/polished lip of course to break the rims from the tires, but how do you guys think these will look? Right now I'm riding on chrome stockers, but I was thinking of trying and painting and polishing my old silver stockers just to get an idea. Any suggestions/recommendations/ideas?

black rims on a red car can look really good if it's done right. I say go for it!

i would go for it. you have just about the only color that looks good with black wheels in my opinion. but hey if it doesnt look good then you always have chrome to fall back on.

Thanks guys. I'm getting stripes soon, so I figured if I had some xtra $$ I'd grab a set of rims. Only problem is that I have to stay with 16", cuz I just bought new tires about a week ago :( I think the stripes will bring out the accents on the front and rear, so the sides need more black on them, hoping the rims do it.

I say yay, only if you get the chrome/polished lip, otherwise no.
