Re: drilled and slotted rotors pics

Is there any upside to drilled and slotted besides the looks? Or is just an appearance thing.

They are supposed to disperse more heat for better braking.

Eh, not really. Thats been discussed before, SUPPOSEDLY they disperse more heat for improved braking like Maro99 said, but physics doesnt lie....holes + slots = less area covered by the pad which in turn doesnt improve anything. Plus they have been known to crack and warp very easily.

Not doggin on ya Kristen. They do look pimp though

BTW Kristen, get back to the track and get in the 12's already! :)

eh not really true i have had mine on for like 3 years and they are fine, god knows that have stop my car from 125 many times on the 1/4 track and 90mph in the 1/8 with short shut down lol

the holes give more surface area to dissipate heat and also release gas's from under the the pads. the slot does this too but covers the hole pad in one sweep

brake fade is casue by the pad being lifted off the rotor from the highpressure gas's that for from the friction. the slot remove this keepin the pad on the rotor.

you may not notice everyday but wait untill you slam on the brakes you will fell the difference.

also they are highperformance, not made to last forever like blanks are

dont forget that the most important part of brakes is good pads :)

how did this go from look at my rotors to who wants to date me. lol. purely out of the blue! i did the rotors for looks. i love them. i don't drive the car enough to see a difference. she never comes out. maybe once every few weeks. now that it's getting nicer maybe once a week to every 2 weeks.
