this has probably been asked before, but I couldn't find the info I need using the forum's search feature...

I'm trying to remove the stock, plastic grill/fascia (in the hopes of mounting a trans cooler behind there), and have the factory service manual, but it is next to useless for directions on how to remove this piece...

Yep, just pull at it and it should just pop out. It snaps right back in too.

get a good grip on both sides (the vents) and pull each side out. then theres 3 tabs on the top and bottom of the grill. stick a screwdriver or such behind the top/bottom of the grill and pull hard. it may seem like you'll break it or something, but you just gotta be fierce. their alot easier to take out after you've done it the first time.

I thought there were like 3 screws in the top of mine you had to go to from the back, so in my 00 camaro, they should just pop out?

            Step 1 Grab grill
            Step 2 pull hard
            Step 3 ???
            Step 4 Profit.

just pull, I started from one side and worked my way across, I tried to feel where the tabs were at, and pulled a little harder.

                It should yeah.

Where could you alternately mount a license plate, instead of on that thing?

Pshh.. I bought my car from a grandma that babied it more than I do... She was seriously like 68. Drove it to work everyday. It's got none of the typical problems I've heard about..

Yank and pull. Did mine that way and it didn't damage anything. The grille is held in by plastic screws with clips. The bumper cover is very durable. If it begins to warp or bend, don't worry about it, just keep pulling.
