  • tail light covers wont stay on

I have some black tailligt covers but they clip on my problem is that I can't seem to make they stay on. I would hate to pay 50 bucks then drive down the street and one or both fall off. So my question is what can I use to keep them on and fitting snug so they want come off

    any ideas

What kind are they? I have GTS, and they snap over the top and bottom nicley, I cant even get them off by hand with my hatch down, so I dont think wind or a bump is going to take em off.

I have GTS blackout covers and my passenger side cover will slide to the side sometimes if I'm driving during a windy day, but they have never fallen off because like cyborg said, when the hatch is down they you can't take them off.

Try some strong 3m double sided tape. Maybe even some double sided "Trim Tape" that you can find at any auto store. It's about $5.00 per roll, but it's strong stuff!

Just place a small strip of it at the top and bottom of the covers where the clips are, and you should be good-to-go.

I'd go with velcro too. That way you can pull it off and clean the lights and inside the covers and then stick them right back on. With double sided tape, you'll have to peel off the tape and re-apply more whenever you want to wash them.

I've been thinking about doing my taillights with a light coat of niteshades or testers window tint paint (for models), and then clear coating it. Then it looks stock.

i dont know about gts covers, but i have heard they fall off a bit. The avs designed ones come with two strips of adhesive backed velcro that sit on the bottom half. Try to work something like that and they wont fall out anymore. if you need pics i can get you some.

Double sided tape and velcro will ultimately fail you.
                            Try Gorilla Glue.

this is heavier duty velcro, not like the kind on your coat/shoes/backpack/whatever.

Ive had them on for 6 years or so with no problems.
