    interested??

i painted mine already, and why do you have a spare plenum? =) anyhow, my twin brother owns a 93 3.4 maro and i would certainly be interested in getting a painted one for him however taking off the EGR, Fuel Rail, ect is just too hard for me right now, otherwise i would love to have it (in fact i'd just pay you for it and paint it myself cuz its fun)

          Not too shabby.

Removing the plenum is the ideal way to do it, but you need a day or two to get it out, paint and put it back in. Not everyone has that kind of time. I painted mine when the motor was out, but put it back on with the motor in, and it wasn't too bad. It's just not something you would want to rush in a few hours.

Nothing at the track yet. I still want to change the 2.73 gears that came with the Z28 rearend disc brake upgrade. After 3.73s, first dyno, then track.

I thought everyone had a spare. I needed heads and lower intake for my rebuild, and it was cheeper to buy a whole motor. I plan on sanding the other one down to get rid of that rough look, and maybe chrome it out or something. I really just want to see what it looks like smoothe.

tried not to rush it, took about 5 hours to paint while giving time for the paint to dry in between coats. I know i missed a spot or two in the back so maybe i can touch it up with a paint brush today or something. Thanx for the input.

              i can't belive a z28 only has 2.73's. why is that?

Yeah, five hours just to paint it. You can see how this could turn into a weekend project.

The donor car was an auto Z28. They had 2.73s, the wife even pulled off the glove box for the RPO code for it. LOL But the way I figure, the V8s have alot of power where it wouldn't have needed gears, they put the 3.23s in the V6s to give them a little more pep.

ah gotcha, but don't people always talk about swapping for a v8 rear end, why is that when the gears are not as good?

The gears was the only drawback of the deal... I got disc brakes, and both tires spin now, plus a one piece drive shaft. I figured, for me, it's alot easier to R&R the rearend, and swap the gears out later, than to buy all of it piece buy piece and keep the better gears, when I had the intention of changing them anyway.
