  • How do u guys clean ur engine bay?

Ok i want to clean my engine bay.

I was thinking to just cover up the most important **** like the ecm, battery, and coils and such, and try not to spray near spark plugs.

Engine degreaser, let sit, scrub, power wash. Is this a way to get the job done?

I have seen some clean engine bays on this site, so please share your knowledge.

I use simple green cleaner on all the dirty parts and Armor All cleaning wipes on all the black plastics and tubes

      When I clean mine:

-I start with a cold engine
      -spray everything down with water
-use a spraybottle with a few drops of dish detergent in it and spray almost everything I can reach
-use degreaser on the greasy or heavily dirty areas
      -let sit for 10-15 minutes
-then use a garden hose and rinse everything off

Let the water drip-off for about 5 minutes and use a small sponge to reach the areas where the water pooled.

Start engine with hood UP and let run until it reaches operating temp. The reamaining water will steam off.

I agree with ^^^^ I also go over any metals that have collected a lot of grime with fine steel wool.
