Good job man... I might just have to switch to 10 mm bulbs... I've estimated about ~140 5mm LEDS to do mine... and that's with special reflector housings... about 300$ overall... mostly cause I decided to not buy off of ebay cause i'm not sure if they'll be bright enough... although ebay had nice 10mm... is that where you got those?... another issue I've came up on is dimming... whether or not you'll be able to tell a difference when your running lights are on and when you press your brakes... have you tested this out...???

I'm glad you're further along then me... you can be my guinea pig... w00t :poke:

we got the rest wired in, here is a quick gif of a blinker with the lights on. The normal tails are going to be dimmer but you get the idea.

Yeah, I got them off of eBay..60,000mcds. they are dang bright.

What we are going to do is have the running lights running in sets of 4 as is everything else, but when they are just running lights, they are going to be running through an additional resistor that connects to the power line that the rest of the resistors are feeding off of. We are going to wire in a diode on the socket so that when the brake lights are applied, the power will bypass the additional resistor and therefore make the parking lights increase to the brightness of the rest of the braking portion. Since it's a diode, when the parking lights are on, it won't light up the brake portion as well.

you got any pics of where your at now?

I was in denial and hoping I didnt have to buy a relay... and by some sort of magic it would work... oh well... I haven't worked on it all summer... it's down at school... I don't have any pics but the biggest difference is I'm using 5mm and mounting directly to the lens with these reflectors that look like ice cream cones... lol... I really wish I could get my hands on some clear euro lenses again and get rid of those reflectors that are on the oem's (mine melted in the oven... hehe)... if I had the clears... I was just going to wire a few LEDs in the corner of the light to the side running lights in the side of the bumper... then everything else just be brakes... and it would have a sort of LED cadillac style... anyways i start school again in a few weeks and will probably start on all my projects again...

edit: you get em from besthongkong??? lol...

yep that was the seller. Shipping was pretty slow but i didn't have any problems with them aside that.

were those ice cream cone things diffusers? I figured i didn't need them because the inside of the lens already has a diffusing pattern on it. Anyway i don't need to diffuse them anyway because i have enough of them haha..

                  http://www.hollysolar.com/html/reflector.html

not diffusers... just reflectors... they'll just make the LED a large bright light instead of an intense dot... I painted them with chrome spray paint... turned out pretty good imo... that's about all i've done though... once you get it done... you're gonna have to show a pic of how you did the diodes... or post a schematic... oh... and videos =)

for a caddillac style you wouldn't even need the diodes. You could basically have the running lights go through a double resistor setup like i was talking about, and have the brake light bypass the first resistor just leaving the ones hooked up to the leds themselves. then have another lead from your blinker socket to power the lights to the same power wire as the brakes were going to.

                      well, we're finished.

I'll post pics on request, and get a better video up within the next few days. Here is a quick one i took with my phone. The instant on/off isn't well displayed from this vid but you can see the LEDs and it looks nice i think. Enjoy!

total cost for me was pretty low, but we were very resourceful. We figured the cost if we set out to make another set, it would be a little under $200.
