Finally after 12 years I'm geting it painted, same color artic white. I'm having my front ground effects molded to the body since my new front ground effect didn't fit the way I like it. I already took out all the dents and primed them. Also my SS hood I primed awhile back. I took off my RS spoiler and filled the holes awhile back also and primed the rear. I kind of like the look of the Camaro with the stock spoiler with the RS ground effects. I think later on if I find a good deal on a SS spoiler I'll put that on. I couldn't beat the price though just under $1000 and thats with molding the front bumper. He said since almost all the whole car is already primed white we won't have to do a whole lot. I'm just doing the exterior since my door jams and other interior parts are fine. I hope it comes out good, I take it on Mon. the 13th, said it will take about 4-5 days.

I think there is a polyurathane filler they can use, so it will flex just like the poly, I asked him the same question when we were talking, because I was going to mold it myself with fiberglass but I knew fiberglass isn't flexable and would cracked in time.. But he said he can mold it with out it cracking, so if it does I will just take it back and have them redo it until they get it right.

No, too late , I'm a white rider, It would look kind of funny with black on the outside and the door jams white. I thought well I've had it white for 12 years, why not another 12. Although my wife wanted me to changed it to black since I have converted the interior to all black. But I didn't want to pay the extra for them to do the jams etc.

It's the thought that counts i guess haha.

Yeah, color changes are never cheap. It's such a price difference between painting in the same color and color change, we got the truck''s color changed but left off under the hood but it was still very expensive even compaired to a new coat of red.

                    Re: Getting car painted

Picked up the car today, looks great with the front ground effects molded in the front. I have to go back tomorrow for some touch ups, my SS hood was rubbing on the pass. side corner and chipped the paint, so they are going to sand it down a little and paint the hood again. Also when it came out of the booth the guy said, some a$$ splash water on the front passenger side lower fender so it needs to be redone. They tried to fix it before I got there but couldn't do it without doing the whole panel. Some dip$hit tried to spay it to cover it up but ended up over spaying on the panel. I saw that right away. So they will have it tomorrow for about 5 hours touching up stuff, and also removing some over spray I noticed after I got home. I'll post pics once it is complete. The front molding of the ground effect is outstanding though, first thing I did was pulled on it a little bit to see how flexable it was, I was surprised how flexable it is, it's just like the front bumper. I wish I had the money to do the sides and rear.

I believe the saying is "once you go black, you'll never go back" ;) we have 4 black cars and two white in the family, and I'll tell you I'll never buy a white car if i have the choice. They do hide dirt a lot better than black though. Can still look good, but black is better :p

When you live in AZ where it gets sometimes in the 120 degree tempature range and most of the time above 110 degrees in the summer, you would change your mind. But my wife did get a Black Saturn Vue, but our cars are always garaged, so she didn't mind black with tan interior. But still Artic white rules.LOL
