Cheap Paint Job and Body Work

My dads friend is really pulling through for me. hes pretty much going to do all the stuff thats wrong with my car for free, and i will just have to pay for parts. also, the guy there that does the paint and body work said he will do it all for only $1,450. I have a big dent above the drivers side wheel, a big scratch on drivers side door, small dents on passenger side and scrapes right behind the front tire. all that body work plus a full paint job will only cost me 1450, thats one hell of a deal. i dont have 1450 at the moment tho (dont laugh) but i could probably have it soon. they said they could match the chameleon green i have now but seeing as i can do any color im getting some ideas. i have always wanted the sunset orange on my firebird, but its a 97 and i have only seen that paint on 98+. i dont really want just a normal color, dark blue, black, white, green, whatever. i like the two tone paints and bright stuff like the sunset orange. any ideas?

if i were to get the sunset orange i think it would look awesome with tinted windows, tinted tailights, black rims, and other black accents. throw up some ideas and ill consider them.

Maaco paint jobs start at 269.00 plus a few extras...

but if this guy is a good painter, that is a good deal. Does he paint for a living? Work at a body shop?

some colors are more expensive than others. if you want to be creative, youre going to end up paying a lot just for paint.

i would go with a nice blue though.

its a full body shop, and my dad does a lot of work for him because he works with a company that installs huge printers and other computer stuff and the guy has one of those vinyl printers. so my dad often helps this guy out a lot and hes giving me a great deal. i asked what colors and he said anything so, i dno. it shouldnt be too much extra seeing as he is giving me over 1000 dollars off.


also, its the paint AND body work. so its actually less than 1450 for the paint. and yes, they are very good and my dad has said when the cars come out of the booth they look super good.

Are you getting door jams, engine bay, etc painted?

What about Mystic Teal Metallic. I've always like that color. Mystic Teal, SOM, and Bright Green Metallic are my 3 favorites.

i believe everything is going to get painted, although i dont know about the engine bay, i doubt it. but it doesnt really need it. those colors to me still seem to basic. its not very often you see sunset orange or chameleon green driving around. those are my two choises probably. and they are stock colors so i dont think they would be too much extra

BGM is amazing. otherwise the medium quasar blue color, which looks sexy on lt1 style birds.
