well this was something that have been thinking about doing for a while. it just came to me one day that it would look freaking kool. sooooo i decided to fab it up. it came out great. had the help of one of my friends

i was able to do this since i did the a/c delete. so i only needed 2 knobs. so i moved them over to where the air vent is on the drivers side by the headlight controls. made a custom bracket inside of the vent hole, extened the vac. lines and wires.

then for the gauges i used the plate that was there. and just hole sawed threw it so that i could still have my re-defr. control.

the gauges are exhaust temp and oil temp.

2 gauges that i didn't need but i wanted them there lol!!!! so i had to pick something.

and for those of you who what to know what i had the black bracket from.....it's a tote. just like what you pack your christmas stuff up in. only i got a black one and it looks perfect. didn't have to paint it at all.

i also extened the pocket by the lighter to slip my window switch for my nitrous threw there. now my controls are at my finger tips

sorry the pics are kinda cr@py but i only snaped a few. and the head unit is a dvd player and i have had it for over a year now
now for the pictures. ok i will do a before and after.

                they look great!

but are they easily visible when driving? they kinda look too low, but i may be wrong. (i have a pre 97 interior)

                      Re: custom gauges

I think they look great... I've always wondered if having to guages coming out of the defrost dash vent. Not one that would cover the whole vent but you could fit 2-3 guages in something rainbow shaped coming out a bit. Since the bird has round vents including three above the radio I just plan on using those when I get around to needing them :)

Do you use the cig lighter???
