  • WHEELS!! What Fits??

    Hi All,

I have a 1995 4th Gen Camaro 3.4 V6. I want to get some new wheels and would like to know what ones fit (ie-off what cars) what do i need to look for when buying (sizes stud placement etc?)

Will 3rd gen firebird / Trans Am wheels fit my 4th gen?

What other cars (bearing in mind i'm in England) wheels will fit to mine?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

    Peter

3rd gens have a different spacing from the back of the wheel, they will stick out a little bit.

Cheers Johnny. Is the stud fitment the same? How much will they stick out by, roughly? A noticable amount or a couple of millimetres?

Also what's the exact diments needed for a 4th gen Camaro wheel. stud spacing and Offset?

      Cheers

        Re: WHEELS!! What Fits??

Unfortunately our cars have a very high offset, even among GM vehicles, and the only other car's wheels that fit our cars properly are Corvettes. Like Johnny said 3rd gen wheels do stick out a bit (it is noticable, and if you're any sort of perfectionist it'll drive you nuts).

As far as i remember our bolt pattern/circle note is 5 3/4" (146mm), the offset is 46mm and the backspacing 7".

That said, if you check ebay you'll notice that some wheels that are advertised for camaros are also advertised for BMWs and GMC Jimmys/Chevy Trailblazers. I've seen the BMW style BBS rims on a firebird before and it wasn't a perfect fit (stuck out a little) but it didn't look bad.

Thanks for the help guys. Just don't like the look of the original wheels and fancied some new Crager wheels or something. Slot mags, anything like that with a bit of a chrome dish.

I recently put on some Corvette Z06 replica wheels. Size 17x9.5 with 54 mm offset. As for tires, I went with 255/45/17's on mine in order to keep the speedo as close to accurate as I could. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2489691/1

Hey, thanks for all the help.

Cars getting painted this week and nearly ready to change the wheels. I'm looking at som Jaguar wheels at the moment.
What size centrebore do our wheels have, and are most centrebores for cars the same?
