the problem i see with that is the fact that it will be nearly impossible to to get the chips filled to the perfect height. Now, you would probably say, well that's what the sanding is for. The problem with that is that you will sand through the paint around the higher level or if it's lower, sand through the clear in spots.
Now, if you really want to save money and do it yourself, you could sand the whole bumper down so it's perfectly smooth and just spray the whole thing with black and clear using the writeup that i think i posted earlier in this thread. I'll check that.

that is is you really don't see spending the money for getting it professionally painted. I didn't. It takes a lot of work, but can turn out nice if you take your time. Time hasn't taken it's toll on my rattle can jobs yet but i've been told it will last a long time, and so far it still looks better than the rest of the paint.
