  • Has anyone had their front bumper re-sprayed?

Im sellin the car, and to be courteous, and help the car sell I was concidering getting the front bumper re-sprayed cuz of all the rock chips, and bugs damaging the clear coat....

So i had a friend that just wrecked his g/f's car.. he's the worst driver ive ever met, and he managed to spin a saturn ion out on the interstate in dry conditions and hit a gaurd rail, front bumper and back.

At the body shop, they put a new rear bumper cover on, and resprayed it, and fixed the front bumper and resprayed that.

    Total price was $798 dollars...

I went to the same place, got an estimate, they wanted 680 bucks to repaint just the front bumper and replace the camaro emblem.

    :twak:

I said, are you replacing the bumper? No
    uh.........
    What's "repair/overhaul bumper" ? (on the estimate)
Oh we gotta fix your bumper...
Theres nothing wrong with the bumper?!
    Theres rock chips and whatnot,....

Anyway, needless to say I didnt do it, but who has had theirs repainted how much did you pay?

If your just trying to repair and boost for resale just go to macco. 200-300 and done. I'm gonna have to get my passenger fender redone more than likely, stupid 528 and women drivers. There is a story here but I don't want to hijack.

Re: Has anyone had their front bumper re-sprayed?

i had mine done about 3 months ago because of all the rock chips and such and it cost me about $200. I went and got a couple quotes from a few shops and they were all around $500-$600 and one of the body shops that i went to told me that if i did the prep work it was going to be alot cheaper, so i did all the sanding and prep myself (and i took off the bumper and re-installed it myself) and then just took it there and they painted it for $200.....so you might want to look into going that route

doing the prep isnt bad. just take your time.

i got my hood painted for $100 (just because the color is slightly off. it was originally $300) and the guy did a great job with the actual painting part.

Going down 528, a local toll road, cruising along about 70 there's a woman driver in front of me and up ahead in front of her I see a big chunk of semi tire, probably 3-4 feet, in the center of the road. I move over to the shoulder to avoid it, thinking hey people paying attention like they should she'll move over as well. What do you think she did? Ran square the **** over it sending it flying up in the air straight into my passenger fender. The black mark I had to rub off was bad enough but there was evidently some steel still in the tire which hit my fender and now it's scratched all to ****. Quite ****ing annoying, I wanted to pit the ***** but I figured at 70 it wouldn't be a good thing.

That suxs man...I had sumthing similar happenin to me except I didnt get hit, or hit anything...I was drivin behind a BMW on the highway in the left lane and I didnt want to pass in the right (like to try and show some type of ettiquete when drivin my car) anyways I was in no hurry...had a couple lengths between us...not many other cars on the road, and the son of a ***** waited until the last possible second to change lanes because of a semi trailer tire lying right in the middle of the left lane...I mean like there was prolly less then 3 feet of space between the beemer and the tire when they changed over and I was goin 120km/h...seriously I have to wonder sometimes whether or not its ppl just not paying attention, or ppl doin **** on purpose...I mean if I hadda hit that tire I was toast...If there was a car beside me...we were both toast... I dunno it bugs me when **** like that happens...I feel for ya...you get a licence plate?

Nah not much I could do. It wasn't her tire just her ignorance. As much driving as I'm doing now I can count on being run off the road at least once a day because of people not paying attention or talking on their cell phones. One of these days when you all hear about a crazy guy in a camaro going nuts and knocking people off the road, it was me.

lmao yea eh...damn that suxs...I woulda still tried to get a plate # and gone to my local police station and explain the situation see if there is anything you can do...cause you goin to insurance to fix it would result in your costs goin up cause it would be considered to be your fault by them...so if you dont have collision as part of your insurance you wouldnt even be covered I dont believe.

and I hate when ppl dont pay attention...most common thing I see that annoys me round here is ppl driving in lanes that end and they dont even look over they just continue to drive and slide into the next lane as there's ends...I feel like i gotta drive like im freggin invisble on the road cause ppl just dont give a **** no more
