  • 1998 Pontiac Firebird Buildup

So a couple of months ago I bought my 1998 Pontiac Firebird. It has 109k miles on it. Needed some work here and there, plus there's a ton I wanted to do to it. I only paid $2600 for the car. It's bright red with grey cloth interior. Everything was completely factory.

The first thing I did was took the entire interior out. I replaced the carpet with black carpet, and I plan on adding leather front seats and a rear seat delete. As of now the interior is empty other than carpet. I'm currently putting everything back in.

    Completed Mods:
    Tail light tint

    Mods List:
    Painted roof (like Z28 Camaros)
    20% Window tint
    17x9/17x10.5 Black Torq-Thrust M's
    T/A front bumper
T/A rear bumper (with Pontiac letters shaved)
    T/A sideskirts
    T/A hatch
    WS6 hood
Whisper air lid w/ K&N filter
    SLP CAI
    Shaved antenna
    Eibach Pro Kit
Black Pontiac letters inserts (until the T/A bumper)
Dynomax Bullet with turndown exhaust (until the T/A bumper)
    Rear seat delete

I'll be updating this thread with pictures as the progress continues. I'll also be editing this post to add-to or delete things as they get done, or I change my mind :)

doing so tomorrow. bought a new memory card for my camera today (since the old one stopped working ), but it died as soon as I started taking pictures.

I think tomorrow I'm going to start on the roof.

All of the interior is pretty simple. Pretty much just unbolt/remove. The hardest part was the console, but even it wasn't all that bad.

No, I don't have any pics of actually taking it out, but I can get some of putting it back in if you'd like. That's what I'm working on now.

                  sounds like a good plan

i'd check to see if theres any cheap early model trans ams around before making the trans am clone. thats what i'm doing.

the trans am hatch would make the biggest difference..i love that trans am wing.

I would... I can't afford insurance on a T/A though. The simple fact that I have to pay SR22 for the next three years rules that one out plain and simple

wth. taken the interior out is so easy. just look bolts, and label them so you know where to put them back!

Right now I can't afford to replace the seats or have them reupholstered, I need my money for other things on the car. Who has dyed their seats? I've read on several forums (mainly Mustang) where people do this. Has anyone here done it? From what I understand DupliColor makes something...
