  • stock steel rims w/ impala center caps

so one of my chrome 5spoke rims cracked... I can't find a replacement anywhere within 70 miles for under $200.

What I did find though is a set of the stock 16x7.5 rims and a set of Impala police car center caps which look like they'd fit. What I'd do is mount some BF G-force 245/50R16 on those rims and have somewhat of a sleeper look.

I already have a heads/cam motor with full 3" exhaust which is a single black turndown pipe on the left to keep the sleeper look. (Cam is similar to a GT1, came with the car as it turned out.)

I'm too poor for a full set of torq-thrust rims which I think look awesome, well but I think this would look kinda cool in its own way. What do you think?

those center caps, our stock steel rims are an inch wider.

I'm wrapping them in 255/50R16 g-force tires, assuming they will fit on a 16x7.5 rim, which I'm pretty sure they will fit on the 16x7.5

Maybe I might even go with the stock camaro hubcaps :) sleeper

I wonder what those caps screw into?

My question is...how do wheels even help the sleeper look? IMO those looks *** except for the centercap lol. I wouldn't worry about your 'sleeper' look and get a stock replacement, because I don't think you would want to be rollin' around with those.

$80 for the set of rims versus $200 for one rim located 100+ miles from me. Tires are $90/piece

It's in taste, IMO I like it (I used to have a Vic, so cop steelies with the center cap is cool). I'd say try it, where are you finding these steelies from?

                    a local junk yard, $20/piece

I like it because nobody else has done it that I know of... I'm already rollin on 15" steelies off an '89 caprice for winter

I think it might look a little intimidating that way... ha

Figuring also that the tire will stick out a little from the rim, and my rims are wider than those pictured

ugly as hell but they get me through the winter and they HOOK at the track, possibly better than my 245/50R16 g-force t/a tires did. They are 205/70R15 winterforce's

Added bonus is there's no worry if I curb these things, they can take a beating.

                        That looks good to me.
I am happy with my g-Force tires, also.
