usually people polish up the words or paint them

well i was going to paint the whole thing and then stick the decals on there and then do a light clear over that, but i guess it would be too hot for it

I painted mine. The intake is green and the "3800 Series II" is painted silver.

how did you paint the letters? did you just hand paint them or, mask them off?

I painted them with a brush. No need to mask them off. A steady hand and some time will be perfect.

i used left over caliper paint. Black high temp. i thought that would work cuz brakes get farly hot. i was board while my calipers were drying

i just got a very fine paint brush and went slow. did about 3-4 coats. came out perfect.
