well finally had a little bit of time this weekend so i cut my bumper support. since i put the slp grill on her you could really see the ugly gray foam. so i took the bumper off and cut the holes. not hard to do at all. not sure what i'm going to do with the holes now. might do some more fab work to get 2 air filters down there and some kind of slp cai. i have alot of room since there is no air cr@p down there!!!

leave it how it is now :p.. if im not mistaken you now have direct flow to your radiator..=awesome cooling.. if you block off the bottom so the only cooling is coming from the front, you now have a front cooled, and much more efficient car :P

yeah i know. i just don't know what i'm going to do with it yet. this was still step one. i do plan on paining it no matter what. and let me tell you....there is aloottttt of extra air flow.
yes the bumper hassss to come off. i used a sabre-saw just to make it go fast. i cut threw it in like 2 mins flat. but you can use anything since it's hard foam.
It's kind of a pain in the *** only cause you have to twist your arm and fit it in tight places at weird angles while using a ratchet.. Not that bad though after you know what you're doing.
Basically, take off the 5 plastic pop off clip things under the hood (the part closest to the nose), and the 3 underneath near the air damn, you will see what I am talking about.
Now on the underneath there are I think 4 screws on each side, all lining the outside of the bumper. Take out all 8.
Take out your headlights, all you have to do is take out 2 10mm bolts for that L-bracket thing then you slide the whole headlight to the inside of the car and it comes off.
There are 4 more nuts you need to take off, and that is the bumper support.. I can't really explain it, but they are basically the main thing holding on the bumper.. 2 nuts on top of eachother in 2 columns.. whatever.. you will see it.
Now here comes the hard part. Look where your corner markers are. You will see an L bracket.. There are 3 bolts on here, that are about 3 inches apart.. the first one is easy to get to.. the other 2 are a pain in the ***. Once you get it down though it goes fast. Once you unbolt those 3, pull the whole bumper outwards away from the car, and you will see what I am talking about, you have to "unlock" the spot you just unbolted. Once you pulled out, now you need to push down towards the ground, and when it seems like the whole bumper is loose, you need to just grab the wheel well and put it on the outside of the bumper.
The bumper should be pretty much off.. just use common sense..
That whole process right there should take like 30 minutes, but the first time I did it, it took an hour and a half because I was missing a few spots to unbolt.
Overall though I think those ****ty clips GM uses are the worst part of the whole thing.. they never work right for me, and they always end up snapping.. about half of them actually popped up so that I could pull them out. The other ones I got pissed off and completely mangled them, and then wrestled them out with pliers.. lol

I say screw taking off the bumper cover, just go at the foam with a dremmel. That's what I'm going to do, and with the right bit I don't forsee any problems.
