Ram Air Hood

hey Guys, yesterday i installed a ram air hood on my 2000 v6 firebird. the air box did fit. does anyone know any cheap websites that i can purchase a air box for a v6. thanks.

Depends on what you think of as cheap. I broke down and bought this one tonight...

Not sure if I'll need a new whisper lid or not yet, or a new airfilter, but that was my solution though I'm still waiting on the hood.

i have one like that my shop guy said it dont fit since it has the bolt pattern of a T/A.

I have one more question. if i were going to put a custom stripe wat color should i do. wat ever color i do the stripe im goin to do a seat insert in the same color in my seats im going to get redone.

Silver for sure. My bro had it on his black formula and then he put like chrome firebird stickers on the headrest of the seats and that looked sick!!!

U.S. Exotics has been E-baying the WS9 hood recently, he puts them up for auction, then manufacturs(sic) them when the auction is won. I just won an auction from him a couple weeks ago, for several hundred under what the sites offer the WS9 and WS6 sell it for.

The guy is very communicative, answers any and all questions. I haven't gotten my hood yet, he's still making it, but overall I think it's a good deal.

Edit: From having done a bit of looking around the net, seems U.S. Exotics has a history of making some decent quality hoods, though I suggest doing your own due diligence...

I just found this forum... have you found a new lid to fit?

I bought a whisper lid from Tbyrne http://www.tbyrne.com works great.
I have a '99 firebird with the slp ram air hood... looks like the firehawk hood w/o the heat extractors.

thanks. i got the painted hood from a 2002 ws6 on ebay with a v8 ws6 air box that doesnt fit for $1,000.
