i was under the impression you aren't supposed to lay down spray paint on top of factory/professional paint jobs. chemically the paints wont really mix or look right and the clear wont lay right.

save your $ and take it to a pro.

Ill take it to a pro if I can't get it polished good. I'm going to make my atempt tomarow around 5

You can put a clear over factory paint, as long as you use the same type of paint (i.e. enamel, lacquer) As long as the clear has something to bond to (need to sand with 1000 prior) the clear will stay on the factory paint if done right.

Yah, it's not done right. I have it a quick sand with 2000, and I have no idea what kind of paint Is under it, now that I think about it it was probably one stage paint. There is one tiny spot whare the paint is peeking out from under the clear. I think a pebbel hit it but Idk. It got rained on a little tonight around 11, I painted it Thursday around 2. That means it was 32 hours sence I sprayed it. Is it going to be ok? I dryed it off.
