My question is can the lower spoiler on my 96 RS be replaced with one from say, a 95 or 97?
Being old I have run into curbs, road dips or high snow and have to have it repaired almost annually. It has many openings designed in it and I think a more solid design would help eliminate my repair bills.
What do you all think?
Thanks.
Ralph
There are no solid designs for the front spoiler. You're talking about the RS bottom piece, correct? The RS was only made in that style in 96' and 97' from the factory, so if you want the stock one, a Chevy dealer will probably charge a lot. There was a factory recall on the original 96' spoiler because the support pieces were too thin and the slightest bump on something made them break. You can go with an aftermarket one. Wings West makes a nice one, RK Sport, Vizage and a couple of others. If I were you, I would consider leaving it off completely, since you hit curbs often.
