How did you disable the driver's airbag for the aftermarket steering wheel?

Disable? Prior to removal I unplugged the battery, pulled the fuse, waited 15 mintues for it to discharge and unbolted the srs assembly from the steering wheel. Straight forward...maybe I don't understand your question.

The Air Bag light stays on though, obviously...no real way to turn it off that I know of other than pulling the LED.

Absolutely beautiful car man. Incredibly clean for the mileage. My car has less than half those miles, but it's been ravaged by Michigan winters most of it's life :( . Love the seats and steering wheel too. Looks great.

Very nice, any tips on how to keep our cars running strong through the years? I'll be very happy if mine lives until 250k.

250K is easy in our cars. Believe me, I don't baby her either. WOT runs here and there...just do the oil changes on time everytime. She gets beat on all the time. You poured hours of labor and time in your car, drive it! I use Lucas/Mobil1 fluids everywhere. Stay on top of repairs...although the only thing to go out has been the power steering pump, water pump, one ignition coil (before MSD coils were put in). Plenty of car washes...even if I don't have time, she gets a rinse.

The real reason she looks and feels newer is simple...you gotta love taking care your ride. Invest the time to clean and work on her. No one besides you touches your car...not even shops.

                      Oh...lots of Zaino.

Ichibahn shifter with a leather boot.

I removed the flimsy plastic shift handle shrouds...it was ugly in my opinion and vibrated. So I got a leather boot for Ichibahn, cut it down, glued it and reassembled the upper console. I still retain all the lights and indicator functions normally. It adds more refinement in my opinion.

I usually have to double, triple my headlight switch for them to come up on my 97 Firebird. I cleaned all connections. Could it be the headlight switch...
