Hi I have this 98 Firebird, and I want to know what the official GM color is. Can anyone help me on this. I don't live in the US, so dealer is not an option.
I have attached a pic of the car and of the door sticker which says the car is Orange ???? The car is all original,
Vic
I thought the 88U on the door tag was the color not the U327D.
I want to know because I am going to ask a vehicle finding agency in the US to find me a 2002 V8 car the same color in mint condition. (Wife says OK but only if the same color)
Thanks again
Vic

Reason: missed info
If that's a legit factory purple, then you have a real rare car there. I think they made like 17 of those in 1998 and that's the only model year they offered that color. You could get a certificate of rarity or something from GM.

That's correct. I tracked it down after discovering that, although the numbers 18 and 19 stick in my head. There was a problem with the purple metallic paint, and they cut the run and switched to gold.
There were 290something V6's made in the purple, I have one of them. Considering the state of my paint, I think something was definitely wrong with it.
Now I have to find a nice V8 / T56 with leather and the important Bright Purple Metallic. Anyone know any finder agencies??
Thanks again
Vic
You should contact this guy, I think he would be interested in selling his Trans Am. He's like the go to guy when it comes to the Purple F-body's. Check out this post: http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showpo...11&postcount=5
It's not a 2002, but it is a 1998 M6 WS.6 with only 32k miles. Says he would be willing to sell for $14k. Not a bad deal if you ask me.

no in all GM vehicles, the Body Paint Code is the one at the middle bottomish one.. you can disregard the first letter.. you just need the 4 digit code... and to think.. i can't find a sample touch-up pint for this.. i had to order some... i havent seen this color before though
Horsepower is how fast you hit the Minivan... Torque is how far you take the Minivan with you... :wavey:

I usually have to double, triple my headlight switch for them to come up on my 97 Firebird. I cleaned all connections. Could it be the headlight switch...
