  • 98+ fenders 97 nose?????

I doubt its possible without massive fabricating and such. But is there a huge difference to the 98+ firebird front fenders and the 97 fenders? I like the look of the 97's but I also like the side vents on a 98. So pretty much, how much work would it take to convert just the hood and nose of a 98+ to a 97, leaving the front fenders. (If possible.)

Well, I know they have a full out conversion. Mostly for the pre 98 into the 98+.

I'm talking about taking a new styles 4th gen (98+) and converting it down to a pre 98 style.

But the thing is, I want to know if its possible to keep the fenders with the vents.

Not sure if thats covered but, if it is... my apologies.

you could always be there first to find out and have your own style.

The Firebird was improved tremendously in the looks department in 98. Why would you want to go to the previous style?

I don't like the newer look. I really like the look of the pre 98 birds.

There are as many definitions for beauty as there're people.

I disagree. But to each their own.

Now as far as this concoction you speak of...

I do not suggest this. First off the front end of the fender is different than the 93-97. The hoods are completely different and you would have to do so much work to the hood it is not even funny. Plus who knows how chopping the big holes for the headlight panels would affect stability. Don't do it. If you feel that you have to have a 98+ look buy a 98+ or at least the entire front clip for about $1000. If you get everything you can swap it over but you would need everything.

Fenders, Bumper Cover, Hood, Headlight Mounting panel, headlight assemblies, all brackets, and I know I am forgetting something....

If you're set on doing it, you will probably need to use the previous style fenders as well, unless you're good with fiberglass.

I wasnt really planning on doing this, expecially with my skills. Just wondering if it was possible, because i like the vents on the side of the 98+, just not the nose or hood.

if i buy a ls1 t/a and sell the lt1, ill be converting it to lt1 style ws6 look. the only way the 98+ look good is if its a ws6, but even then i still prefer the lt1 ws6 over it.

It's been done.. check out this guys cardomain page.

He just combined the upper portion of the 93-97 fenders with the lower portion of the 98-02 fender. Could probably be done fairly cheap since you could just buy broken fenders to do it. Most people would probably just charge you shipping for those.
