So I went outside this morning to install my new halo lights only to find that some a**hole keyed my car last night... Right in the middle of the hood. I'm not sure if insurance can cover that kind of thing but I'm going to get ahold of my insurance company anyway. I'm going to keep a baseball bat right next to my front door so if I ever see anybody around my car, I'll make sure they don't mess with my car again.

Re: My poor hood..
That sucks.. I dougt it is worth going to insurance though.. it would be covered most likely but you will have to pay you're deductible first. Then if to many claims you're insurance goes up or cancelled.. So in end cheaper to just pay for it you'rself.
I keep a 5D Mag flashlight around for such people :)

Man, that sucks royally and I feel for ya.... after being in a new apartment complex for just 2 days, someone broke into my car, took my touchup paint and wrote "****ing Camaro ***" on my driver's side glass... nothing missing or anything broken or ripped up either...

Re: My poor hood..
I had my car broke into a few weeks ago, I had about $1000+ of network and phone test equipment in back seat, did not touch it but stole my volt meter, and my red mag flashlight. My car doors were open which I do ALOT, I figure I have a convertible the top is easy to cut and expensive to replace. I have been debating puttiung in some IP cameras, few hundred dollars but piece of mind might be worth it.

Re: My poor hood..
There is some nice IP cameras out their now. down to $100 give or take.. you have to draw wire and power.. Don't waste money on wireless still need to draw power so... DVR's can be expensive, but standalone can have it upload video etc to computer when motion detection.. or just fake cams.. will scare away 90% of people.

Re: My poor hood..
yeah, well alarms, locks, scanners and cameras will only keep honest people out. if a thief wants somthing, he/she is getting it. Which is shytty#1:1999 pewter metallic y87 rs A4 camaro.check out the pics on the link below<br />#2:Bright red 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. Brand new 400 cubic inch Pontiac Motor. Re: My poor hood..
Camera locks etc.. are a deterrent even to non-honest people. We were getting break ins almost nightly behind one of our restaurants. We are planning to put in full video surveilance but that takes time. So for a quick fix we put in a few fake cams in back parking lot. Not one break in, in over 2 weeks.
