chrome paint on rims?

saw an arosol can of "Chrome Paint" at autozone. Has anyone tryed it on rims? i wanna paint my stockers chrome. it cant look any worse than they do now might as well try it, just wandering if anyone elce has tryed this stuff. it probably comes out silver but who knows.

It's a little bit shinier silver. If you put the work into it, you can polish your rims to look chrome, but saying it's a lot of work would be an understatement.

Or you could consider black to go with your other black accents. I have a writeup in the how-to section.

Yes no chrome paint, it will turn out alot worse than you are expecting. Try to use a black paint or i've even seen a sort of hypersilver color but not to familiar with that one to well. My best guess is to use the black paint and his write up ^ or save the money and buy new rims&tires when you get a chance.

his do look rea; real good but i think it might look funny on my teal, car bit ill think about it. im mixed. evin if it comes out as a shiny silver i would be happy. maby if i did a glossy black base coat and then the chrome it might look good.

I would just repaint your rims silver or black as sugested. This way you can buy a cheap can of silver paint and clear coat and probally get decent results. Good luck either way

That's the plan. Gonna wait till I get my windows tinted and decide if I want black with the chome lip to match the black trim or silver to match the silver trim.

I'm painting them ether Sunday or Tuesday, what ever day I'm not getting my windows tinted. So with black windows, black with a lip or shiny silver? I need opinions I'm mixed

Here is a quick (and very bad) chop of your car with black wheels.


Give me a pic straight from the side, eye level, about 15ft out and I could get you a much better chop with a pic of my car.

chrome isnt cheap, and that aerosol is the cheapest, most chrome like, and easiest chrome finish youll get next to the real deal. not to mention the 4 month turn around...
