Your car is beautiful. I love that color with the black top and the Z06 rims. What was the name brand of paint you used?
I dont know if you want to or saw pics of my car when I finaly got your rims on there but if you go to the search and type in "finally got some pics" you can take a look.
i would definitely trust you painting my car if you did that good of a job, that's for sure... looks awesome man, can't wait to see all the panels back on! =)
I take it the car was blue to begin with? saw the engine bay was blue.. But again, the first posting of pictures shows that the car was sanded down for prep and I see the blue there too.
my one question was; when you sprayed your base, I thought there was a certain time limit before you 'had' to lay a coat of clear to seal up the base?
Also, primer out of a paint bomb? then base color and clear? arnt you worried about a chemical reaction? I guess it all really depends on the type of paint you decide to use. I stand by PPG, yet I pay the price too. I cant wait till it warms up and i get my camaro tore apart so I can drop everything, put it on stands and get her painted. Just cant figure out what color I want to slap on her.
Great job on it by the way, was this your first job?
Also you mentioned orange peel? was this on the base or the clear? kinda figured with your metallic, sanding or (color sanding) the metallic would take the flake out. Course I did read that you re-sprayed the effected area.
Good job anyways. Cant wait to see it done,
What are you using to vent the garage?

ok lots of questions here.
yea we just rattle can primer, seems to be working fine so far with no problems and yea the car was originally blue but the paint job sucked. we did all door jambs, engine bay, etc. everything! the only amount of time you need between base and clear coats is 15 minutes. it is 4th dimension paint supplied by sherwin williams. the orange peel was in the clear coat only. and we vented the garage with having 2 circular fans blowing in, and 2 box fans in the window sills blowing out. there were filters on each fan as well.
bump! everything is painted except for the underside and the hood, and the hood hinges. we will have to re-do a small section of the front bumper cover, and of the RH fender.. other than that it is turning out very well. here are some pictures of the car somewhat put together from this weekend, sorry about leaving the blue painters tape around the hatch, we didnt want to scatch anything putting it on!
So my truck is finally getting some work done, after 17 years, Oil pressure sensor went out and it’s located under the lower intake manifold. Have to...
