T-Top question

anyone out there know how to get the knob off of the t-tops? I've been trying to see a way, but to no avail. This is the last step in removing the trim panels from the t-tops..thanks!

why do u need it off? i wouldnt take it off. they're probably a spring in there that'll be hard to be put back on.

Not much of an option. I'm dyeing the interior of my car, and this piece needs to be done for it to look right. I'm not really worried, because at this point, my car is pretty much gutted for this project.

Can you just mask it off really well and paint it like that?

ehhhhhhhhhhhhh maybe. This stuff isn't really paint. It's really thin in consistency, and drifts like a b*!&@. I know these things come apart. I just need to know if there is a retainer on them like manual window arms have... they don't have springs in them, a spring would be useless...
