Got everything done, my car is now officially a T-5! Put the Tranny in, all that good stuff. Pics will come tommorrow... In the meantime I also put some stainless steel braid brake lines on... Now I'm just waiting on a new over -axle pipe from flowmaster, and my PCM to come back from PCMforless.com so my dash doesn't light up like a christmas tree when I turn her on... I'm still doing an interior removal writeup, just taking alittle while with work and all... check back tommorrow for pics!!
Ok. So I did the T-5 swap, and put the interior back together, this is how it turned out.
This morning I also went over the entire car with meguiar's fine cut on a W-8000 pad, and then swirl remover 2.0 on a W-9000. This is how it turned out before an application of Hi-Tech Yellow Wax. The car hasn't been cleaned at all in a year so I think it turned out really well...
And then of course The new toys that I have to put on. One of them is this, the electric butterfly valve is on backorder, the new exhaust tubing came in today as I walked out the door to work...
So all in all, everything went smooth. T5 conversion was really rather simple IMHO. I'm still waiting on the PCM, but it's so nice to have a car that moves again!.. Look out for the write-up
Still no bumper. Called my uncle today, he said he didn't like how it turned out so he'd do it again free of charge. I'd rather have something that looks good so I said alright.
Looks like your doing a very nice job on everything! Looks like a fun project too.
In my opinion, if one can't figure out how to take the interior apart, they probably shouldn't be messing with it. It's basically all clips with a few fairly obvious screws. But maybe that's just me.
I just think that putting it all back together is the hardest part, and if you can't figure out how to get it apart without help, you're probably getting yourself in too deep and you'll have a heck of a time getting it all back in.
Alright everyone, PCM has been reflashed, Tranny is in, Interior is Done, Bumper is back on. Two months work results in this. Here's two of the best takes from my first photoshoot of the year.
Just got back from driving it too, its awesome, I can't wait to get the headers, cat, and s-pipe on it.
I knew it was going to be cloudy so i picked a high spot, but It was sheer luck that I caught that good of a cloud pattern lol...thanks guys...any other input?
So my truck is finally getting some work done, after 17 years, Oil pressure sensor went out and it’s located under the lower intake manifold. Have to...
