            because i am too poor to put new ones in

                  i dont see the problem why do people need to change the studs to bolts ??

                    Other than the stock Studs being 1" too long? The point is use new Fasteners. It's not a good place to get cheap. How many people putting headers on do you see breaking the stock studs? Every thread on this board about installing headers has complaints about the stock studs breaking. Bolts or studs is your choice. Personally I have studs holding my headers on, But they are ARP 5/16 X 1 1/2 with 12 point ARP nuts. I have no issues with blowing header gaskets and they have never been re torqued.

                          i think the reason why the studs break is people try taking them out

                            They break when you try taking the exhaust manifolds off, before you even get that far.
