I just bought some stock wheels off a 2007 Corvette, sizes are 18x8.5 and 19x10. Will these wheels fit on my 2000 Firebird without having to use spacers? I don't have any tires for the wheels yet so what size should I go with?

Yeah, they should fit without spacers.

I'd probably do 245/40/18 up front with 315/30/19 out back.

fronts fit without any problems at all. go with 245/40/18.
rears will require at least 1/8 worth of spacer. im not sure exactly how the wheel well on an 00 bird is shaped, but my 94 camaro needed some "massaging". 285/35/19s fit very nice. any wider on the tire youll need more spacer and anything more than 7/32 worth requires longer studs.

i just went through all this.

I put some 2005 c6 rims on my car and didnt need spacers in the front but I put 1" spacers on all 4 and it looks 100xs better. Now they fill up the entire wheel well and arent all sunk in.

                      Re: C6 wheels

yep, theyre the 08 "indy pace car" wheels. same sizes as yours, although i originally thought they were 19x11s in the back, theyre 19x10s.

if you want a truly "no scrub" fit youre going to need to use spacers and probably longer studs for the back. mine are set up with 7/32" spacers (thickest you can safely use without longer studs) and on a hard bounce or body roll you do hear them kiss the inner fender slightly.

youll also have to jack the entire rear end up to get them on, otherwise the inner lip of the wheel will hang up on the bounce limiter... or whatever you want to call it. regardless you really shouldnt put them on one at a time with the rears.

06 and up were different backspacing than the earlier models.

oh, I see. Still, if you "don't need them" but could use them to get the wheel out to the wheel well, do it. Looks way better and totaly worth the money IMO.

depends on how much work youre willing to go through to get a set of wheels to stick out more, not so much the money. 1" spacers are more like adapters which imho are very unsafe. im not sure just how thick you can go with a solid spacer but anything over 7/32" gets into the "very little thread on the lug nut" territory and requires longer studs. longer studs require pulling the axles for the rears.
