  • worst luck on earth.

well I went to the dealership and got back my ss wheels for my new 2000 ss right? on my way back, there's this HUGE sign thing bouncing around the freeway and nails my new baby. it scratched up the nose a moderate amount and I went to a bodyshop, and he told me it would cost 250 to buff the scratches, and polish and seal the entire car. But my luck most of the scratches weren't scratches, it was ruboff from the sign which looked like scratches, but either way, it has some now, and it was MINT. but it is fixable, thank GOD. thats the worst luck in the world.

whats the absolute best polish to use to get the damn scuffs out? they're actually pretty minor I think, what should I do? do it myself? or pay some guy 250 to fix it? and polish the whole car? Im pretty inexperienced at this so...let me know.

You know since it happened on the freeway/turnpike... the state or whoever owns that part of the freeway must pay for it.

lol, I geuss I was lucky cause mine only bounced around a few seconds then I saw it sailing in my rear view at the car behind me. Eh he shouldn't have followed so close.

But it is one of those reasons why you should never stay near trucks for long. Super high miles on those things, I see trailer tires everyday below 2/32and just unevenly worn like crap. BTW unless the drivers do.. which a vast majority of them don't, trailer and dolly tire psi gets checked on a 90 day basis at fedex. I'm constantly lowering tire pressures on everything I inspect. And I've seen my share of loose lugnuts too.. omg..

Sorry to thread jack, im done. I swear.

Apparently I've exceeded my upload limit for my sig so I couldn't see it anymore. I was in the midst of changing it which is funny that you ask. But no, they're stocker bulbs.

                        Re: worst luck on earth.

Just use basic rubbing compound if the scratches are relatively deep. Polishing compound if they aren't very deep, and scratch remover or swirl remover if it's very light. I've had the best luck with meguiars gold class.

Btw good choice getting back the SS wheels. And keep those tail lights far far away from that car as well.

Are the marks paint from what you hit? Use a claybar if it is, that should get it off, then hit it with a polish or rubbing compound.
