  • Best Way To Remove Driver Side Door Panel?

I have a blown tweeter on the driver side of my '02 bird and it's making awful raspy noises. I don't have the scratch to buy new speakers yet so im wondering if anyone can give me any pointers on how to remove the door panel so i can just disconnect it for right now. Will i need any special tools?

You'll just need a Phillips screw driver. My guess is screw positions are the same between birds and maros. There are two screws right around the handle, one right behind the handle and another on the front part. The two main screws are on top of the main handle. Then it's just clips, which you just pull up on the door panel to remove.

Well today was about 22 degrees out so i will wait for a warmer day to try this. Thx for tips guys.

Should i have the window rolled up or down when i take the panel off? Or does it matter?

window down, it wont affect anything inside the door but it'll give you more room to work.

and double check to make sure you have all your the screws out, cause theres 4 in my camaro, but firebirds have diff door panels and you definatley dont want to break something.

very simple, pop out the big speaker grill and just snip the wire going to the tweeter.
