  • wtf holes in my trunk?

I was poking around in my trunk and taking the carpeting off, and I found this strange module on the lower drivers side corner. It's like a square piece of plastic that at first I thought was some kind of light, but then I poked it and there's a plastic check-valve-like apparatus that goes outside the car.

What the heck? I didn't see anything around there that would need venting...at first I was concerned about exhaust fumes, but it seems to be a one-way system leading out of the vehicle.

the only pupropse I can think of is to encourage a/c air to leave the car. But its not as if my car is airtight and pressure is gonna build up or something. I looked underneath for the outlet but didn't find it, hidden up above the muffler or wheel well or something.

    What is this for?

that lil flap is for air to evac out of the car. If you look around you'll find a couple more.

Yeah, I often need vents in the interior after eating anything with 40+ grams of protein in it. Sometimes I gotta check after I get out of the car to see if cutting one in turn left a tear in my seat. So I guess I have these holes in the trunk to thank for me not dying.

the plasic thing that leads to the hole is like 4-5 inches from the bottom of the trunk floor space in that corner....there is a hole on the other side right at the bottom, that I can see for that purpose though...
