Im planning on doing a nice wash for my car tomorrow. If someone could make a nice easy simple but detailed list of what i need and what to do it would be a great help. something like this...
-car wash soap
-wax
-tire stuff
etc etc etc
and names would be good because im going to go buy the stuff tomorrow.
im looking for a moderate-good car wash. no need to put 50 coats of wax and stuff but i want it to look good.
Well for tires my favs are everything by "Black Magic", especially the spray for chrome wheels, it kicks ***...
As for anything good I can't help ya I take very long use polish and wax, I wash my car about once a week in the summer, and I take my time. I guess your looking for a quick clean.
i swear by meguires. you can use either gold class or NXT. i like both of them. this is for the car wash and the wax. i like the paste... never tried the other forms though.
i used to use turtle wax chrome polish for the wheels.
no real opinion on tire stuff. i use whatever i have laying around.

anything meguiars. if your car is black go with gold class wax, if not then NXT is what you'll want, both by meguiars. soap is soap, just please dont use dish soap, it takes off clear coat after prolonged usage. and i hear armorall tire shine is nice, but i use some offbrand stuff my cousin gets from a dealership he works at that is really nice. if you got chrome rims then polish those babies up with some chrome polish, i use Mothers.
that should do ya good. i only use microfiber towels on my car also.

-2 bucket method.
1 for dirty water, 1 for clean soap. Dont wash your car without this method
-Good soap
-Good Polish(gets rid of wax)
-Good Clay
-Good Wax
-Good glass/window cleaner
I've actually had really good luck with the armorall two step wash system. It's basically car wash gel that you put in the water, and then a liquid wax type stuff that you put on the car while it's wet and just dry the car off with a towel. Leaves a really nice shine for hardly any work at all.
As for a real good full detail, I've had good luck with meguars gold class. I love their swirl remover. I have Mothers paste wax and I like it pretty well too.
My car is black... and people tell me I wash my car weird, lol.
I will wash a panel at a time. Starting with the top, I wash it, and then dry it off with my Super Absorber. I try very carefully not to get the clean panels wet again while cleaning other parts, but if I do, just dry it off again.
Sounds odd, but man, its the only way I can wash it and get virtually no dried white spots on my ride (especially if I got no shade). Always looks great when I do this...
Also heard GREAT things about a clay bar and Meguiars NXT wax, gonna try it when I get a few extra bux
Thanks guys, sounds like Meguiars will do the trick and other suggestions will be thought of when i get to the store to look around. That thread really helped and ill look through it tomorrow when i start, thanks again.
yeah, definitely use 2 buckets! theres no other way. get a nice wash mitt. the other thing i really like for drying is the absorber. its a synthetic chamoix. you just keep wringing it out, and it works great. then it dries out and gets hard after you use it. you get it wet again, and its good to go.
