I finally got around to wetsanding my headlights. They were incredibly hazy and and a ton of spidercracks. In fact, it was so bad that I drove around at night with my foglights also on to compensate for the lack of proper light.
Anyway, have a few before and in-between shots. I'm still waiting for the Novus polish kit to go through the mail, so right now they're only sanded. I started with a 400 grit, then went to 1000, 1500, 2400, and finished off with 3200. 3200 grit wasn't necessary, but there were some scratches that needed to be sanded down. At this point, the plastic was smooth enough that it was repelling the water.
Before:
Yellow and crusty... notice the line of contrast at the top.
After 2400 grit and some Meguir's Plastix Polish (which didn't work in this case). It still looked hazy and uneven in areas, so I started all over again.
Waiting for Novus:
This is as it sits now after the 3200 grit, dry with no polish whatsoever.
Can't wait for this stuff to come in. Then my car will be cataract free. :D
