  • Someone Backed Into My Car!

 Some time yesterday! I didnt notice untill 1st break today at work... It was either at Work, School, or the Gym. Someone plain as day backed into my car. Not a slight bump, but a paint peeling, cracking my tail light, and leaving black paint on my car kind of rear-end. I know they had to feel going up on my bumper!
So I was scratching at it and some of the black paint will come off, and I can see my red paint under it. I am wondering what i should use to clean this up as good as possible with out a repaint. :(

Go at it with rubbing compound and see how much comes off. I'd say most of it should, but there is still the matter of how the paint looks underneath.

Take a claybar to it first to see how much of the black paint you can get off with that. Then you will probably need to use a buffer to take out anything left behind.

So I guess i'll do it this way....
                    1. Wash clean
                    2. rubbing compound - What do you suggest?
                    3. Clay bar
                    4. Buff the Sh*t outta it
                    5. Prey to God!

mineral spirits work well to get paint off. just want to make sure you get it all washed off afterwards...

Clay it before you take a polish or rubbing compound to it. You want to use the least abbrasive method first and work your way up if needed.
