It can be done by a newtimer. Everyone has to learn once. If you want to get the chips and ONLY the chips repaired professionally, take it to an automotive detailer. Most car washes employ guys to do stuff like that.
that "chip" in the paint on the door is a little more damage than you think. those cracks are stress cracks in the material (smc, or sheet moulded compound. kinda like fiberglass) and unless they are properly fixed they will continue to show in every paint job that gets put over them.
you definitely need to get the exposed metal covered up on the quarter though. it wont take long to rust if its been repainted before.
as far as a body shop repairing the damage... yes, they will paint the whole panels. if they use a single stage (cheap shops) theres a strong chance the color wont match exactly. if the use base/clear they will only put base (color) over the repair and blend it out to the surrounding area, then clear the whole panel. not too many shops are quite brave enough to use blending solvent, and itll cost you the same in the long run. so its not a big deal to have them paint the whole panel.
i wouldnt suggest trying to fix it yourself unless you dont really care about the end result... even with all the suggestions you have been given. no offense guys, but thats a bit of a task for a first timer to properly repair :)
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
