Those little cross things in the plastic as shown in the pictures, those are the "rivets" in the panel from GM. They are melted on and you have to break them to get them off, so he drilled holes, put a screw it and used washers to attach them back to the rest of the door panel. It's easier to just see the back of the door panel, but his pictures are a bit blurry of the back.
