New one here.. the people that had the car before me had red velvet plush fabric on it, with 3-d butterflies it in. yeah pretty gay (no offence). but the shell was pretty hacked up so new it is!
Tom, did you ever sit there and look at it and wonder if your taking toooo much metal out, or thought you wernt taking enough out... I want to see pics of someone that has t tops FACTORY, so I can see where these brackets sit at. Plus I want to see some weather stripping pics so I can figure out how they sit.. I saw yours. there was a gap.. something I dont want to see... or possibly too much metal was taken off..

I have factory t-tops. I do not have a headliner in my car so I should be able to snap you a few pictures tomorrow around noon. (it's 2am EST here so I am getting ready for bed.) I have not looked at how the molding attaches, if it just slides on/off I will pull it off to get a couple pics too. I don't think I would be willing to mess with the factory seals if it's glued.. wouldn't want to start a leak. :P

What kind of picture angles would be most helpful?

^^Troy in the last pic. from that angle where does that gold trim stop ? at the windshield ?

And Ricks if you can get me a few pics without the little b-pillars in that would be great. Take a few of where the stripping is at the top of the windshield too starting to go up the roof.

hey Troy,

Did you get that filler completed? Just wanted to see what all needs filled, Didnt know if it needed to flow like the frame thats there, or just sealed the gaps and be done with it.

Rick, if you can get those pics up, that would be great, give us a ref point. I had stock pics from Reckl3ss, but I think I got rid of them by mistake.

I just test fitted the pass side weather strip. the front looks to be ok... the rear needs a little trimming to get it to sit right. so I traced the strip so I know what I need to cut. I think its going to be ok..

Here is a tip for everyone doing this. USE THE weather strip as a template. believe me, I almost took TOO much metal off. but decided to see what it looked like with the strip on.. i have about a 1/16th of an inch left to trim which isnt much on the front. the rear has about a 1/4" section I need to cut out to have the strip lay flat.

Tom, test fit the strip, you'll see where the (Gold/Tan) strip needs to stop. if you cut it too far back, silicone my friend. lol
