Started the conversion today. Covered up the car real good to prevent shavings and dust from getting on my paint. The roof was really siliconed down. With 2 people it was alot easier to get off. I still have alot left to do. Me and my brother started this around 10 and stopped around 8 with normal breaks. i have 2 questions. Guys who have done this take a look at the pics.

Re: My t-top conversion pics plus have a few questions
Don't cut off the gold piece, and no it's not supposed to meet. I'm actually going to be adding in some bondo or something in those areas to bring it out a little more so the weather stripping has something to rest on and still line up. You'll find that the angle it sits at is about the right angle, but it won't be touching, like your picture. Something needs to hold it in place so it doesn't move.
EDIT: there may be a bit of grinding down involved in the front part, but for the most part it should still remain. it will help hold the weather stripping and help with sealing later on.Last edited by TheGr8Schlotzky; 05-26-2008, 01:49 AM.

Tom, when you got the weather stripping, did you get the plastic brackets that come with it. lol
it goes in the corners... help make it rigid.
if you dont have them, something to look into.

Re: My t-top conversion pics plus have a few questions
the gap behind is prob about as thick as maybe the metal part of a key. i made a very generous cut and am gonna use a sheet sander to sand it back to the beginning of the dip. I think i am gonna go in the garage and do some work. my headache is a little better1997 Camaro LS1 RS

Re: My t-top conversion pics plus have a few questions
I'm going to have to build a wall and form a channel. I have some fish tubing, Im going to see if I can form a channel like the stock one. it'll be the same as the hardtop, just moved up more towards the tops. if all fails, i'll just build a flat wall like everyone else.
