i've been wanting to get rid of my pinstripe, and a really useless bumper sticker on my car for a while...i've seen firebirdkid say a hair dryer and plastic blade can remove the pinstripe...
i have a question about the bumper sticker..."ghosting" is what i'm worried about with the bumper sticker, plus how i could actually remove it...it looks like it's been there a while and is pretty faded...
The heat/blade will work just fine, it's just an extension on what zpwn said, the heat makes things a bit easier. There may still be some residue left over though, and paint thinner should get that off. Don't worry about paint thinner on the cars paint...it's paint remover you don't want near your car.
yeah, paint thinner is pretty safe on our clearcoats unless you're a complete dumb***...
but as for ghosting, theres a good shot its there...
stickers and pinstripes ftl
yeh and mineral spirits is pretty weak as far as thinners go. I'd use the heat method, but I don't have a hairdryer. I do have a heat gun, but it gets up to about 500 degrees (which is freaking awesome, but not friendly on paint).
...so i got the pinstripes off...looks good, but theres still some glue traces left behind, and i cant get em off...rubbing alcohol didnt work, a razor doesnt work...guess i'll try lacquer thinner next?
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
