shifter boot

hey all,
i just got a suede leather shifter boot to go with my new proform billet shifter and i was just wondering what would be the best way of putting it on?

should i use some particular type of glue or epoxy to attach the boot to the console or what? has anyone found anything that did the trick?

i tried using super glue with the stock leather boot when it fell off and it only made a mess because it didnt stick too well.

any ideas?

there's a boot retainer ring. It's a plastic ring that goes inside the bottom of the boot that holds it around the console and snaps in at a few spots; they're very frequently broken. I just ordered a metal one from here
